If you have requested a mail-in ballot by the Feb 10th deadline, it will be mailed to you in late February. If you have not received your ballot by March 6, please contact the WCD office at (360) 526-2381 x 101 for a replacement.  Requests for replacements cannot be honored after March 10.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: I have requested a mail-in ballot in previous elections, why do I have to fill out this form again this year?

A: To protect your personal data and to ensure your information is current, a new request for a mail-in ballot must be completed every election year.

Q: What happens after I complete this request form?

A: You will receive in the mail

  • An Election Candidate Information/Statements  (only if all candidates provide)
  • An Official Ballot
  • A Ballot Secrecy Envelope
  • A Return Envelope

After following all the instructions in completing your ballot you have two options to return your completed ballot:

  1. Mail it in.  To be counted, all mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before March 18, 2025.  NOTE:  not all mail is postmarked the day it is deposited with the post office due to changes to its mail-handling process.
  2. Drop it off. To be counted, all hand-delivered ballots must be dropped in the Blue Whatcom Conservation District drop box at our office at 6975 Hannegan Rd, Lynden beside the front door on or before March 18, 2025 by 6:00 p.m.

Note: You will not be able to drop off your Supervisor Election ballot at any County election drop boxes.

Q: Why are we not asking for Phone Numbers and Email Addresses

A: For your privacy we are not going to ask for Phone Numbers and Email Addresses for confirmation purposes, since the District is a public entity, and that information could be the subject of a Public Records Request.

Q: Why isn’t the conservation district board of supervisors election on the regular county ballot?

A: Conservation district elections are governed by Chapter 89.09 Revised Code of Washington (not Title 29A RCW Elections). Conservation district elections also must comply with Washington Administrative Code 135-110 and follow election procedures established by the Washington State Conservation Commission.
